Ciao a tutti,

This is a text about Rome.

The biggest city in Italy and the capital since 1871 is Rome. It has 2.724.347 inhabitants in the city (1. January 2009) and the area is 1.285,306 km². The city is at the river Tiber. I think the Tiber is very dirty.
The mean annual temperature in Rome is 15,5 °C. In the summer the temperature is about 24 °C and January is the coldest month with 6,9 °C.
Rome was established on the 21. April 753 BC.
There lives many imperators for example: Augustus, Hadrian, Konstantin, Nero and certainly Caesar.
It also named „the Eternal City“, because of the ancient history. The most imperators were at war with Gaul and other Country’s in Europe.
Inside Rome is the smallest state of the world. The area of Vatican state is 0,44km² and there lives only 932 inhabitants. Pontifex Benedict XVI lives there.

My opinion is, that Rome has the most beautiful sights in the world.

Forum Romanum:
The Forum Romanum was the market in the ancient.

Colosseum:
The Colosseum was a place for the Romans to see battles between Slaves and animals (Tigers; Lions; Bears). There died many Gladiatos.

Fontana di Trevi:
It’s one of the most popular fountains of the world. It was designed by Nicola Salvi.

St. Peter's Basilica (Basilica Papale di San Pietro in Vaticano):
Konstantin thought the apostle Petrus is bury there and so he built the Basilica. Every day 20.000 people visit the Basilica.

These are my four favourite places in Rome.

I hope you enjoyed my text!
Nicole
