Hey guys!

I will write a text about Tokyo. Hope you'll enjoy it. Jooooooke. Just write a comment, I'd be happy about that.

Tokyo is the capital of Japan. The city itself has 8.483.050 inhabitants, including the area around it, which belongs to Tokyo, too, it is the biggest city in the world. There live about 35 Mio. (!) people. Tokyo is divided in 23 districts ( the special wards of Tokyo) and the Greater Tokyo Area. The last one is where most of the people live. Each one of the 23 special wards of Tokyo is administered by Tokyo's government. And each one is governed as a city. Tokyo is the seat of the Imperial Place, the Japanese Government and the home of the Japanese Imperial Family.
The density of population in the city amounts to 13.650 inhabitants per km² (That's a lot. In comparison with the population density of New York City, it's got 3.000 inhabitants per km² above). The Greater Tokyo Area has an expanse of 13.556,03 km², the special wards 621,45 km².

Those are the facts :)

Munich

Servus ! (so they say in bavarian; means hello)

In our blog we tell you something about one of our favorite cities: Munich
Munich is with 1.35 million inhabitants the 3rd biggest city in Germany and the capital of Bavaria. Living in Munich is very expensive, the heaps are two times higher than the heaps in other German big cities like Berlin or Cologne.

Tourist magnets:

Munich is famous for the "Oktoberfest": Over one million people visit the biggest folk festival of the world. Many visitors from countries like Japan or Australia visit Munich only because of the good wheat beer. A typical Bavarian dish is " Haxen". You can eat the best "Haxen" in the "Hofbräuhaus".

Sights:

Here you can see the Marienplatz, where the new and the old town-halls are situated. The Marienplatz is the midpoint of Munich. If the most succesful German footballclub, the F.C. Bayern, wins a cha mpionship, they celebrate their victories on the balcony of the new town-hall.

This is the stadium of the F.C. Bayern and the TSV. 1860 Munich: The Allianz Arena. Effective with the city's approval of modifications the legal capacity of the stadium has increased from 66,000 to 69,901 spectators (including standing room). The constuction cost amounted to 340 million €. The opening match of the football World Cup in 2006 was in this arena, Germany won the game. The opponent of Germany was Costa Rica.

The English Garden is one of the biggest urban public parks in the world, it´s even bigger than the Central Park in NY. The English Garden lolls from the city centre to the northeastern street limits. Every day students, visitors and inhabitants recreate in their garden.

Day trips:

You can take a tram to the "Bavarian Filmstudios" in Grünwald which is sitiuated about 10km away from the city centre of Munich. Every year many TV an cinema movies are produced there. Some of the most popular ones are " The never-ending-story" and " The u-boat".
You can take a " Film Express" through the Film city and a guide tells you something about the movies and shows you the corresponding the props.

The Andechs Monastery belongs to the Benedictine orden an is located on a hill near the Ammersee in the Landkreis Starnberg. You can take the tram to Herrsching and from there you can have a nice walk up to the hill to the monastery. If you are strong enough and reach the top of the hill you can refresh yourself with a delicious famous Andechser Beer.

We wish you a nice trip to an exciting city!!!
Max and Christian.

Houston, Texas

Hello there,

I chose Houston, because I went there when I was ten and my sister was on an exchange there for one year when she was 17.

Houston is the biggest city in Texas and one of the biggest cities in the United States. It was founded in 1836 by two brothers John Kirby Allen
and Augustus Chapman Allen. The population is about two million people. Houston is also the centre of "Houston-Sugar-Land-Baytown", that means, it's the biggest cultural and commercial centre on the gulf of Mexico.

Houston is famous for it's energy, especially oil. The port of Houston is nearly the biggest in the united states. In Houston is also the Nasa-space center (everyone knows it from the famous words:"Hello Houston..."). In the city are many museums, cultural things and universities.
The rice univerity in Houston is one of the best twenty in the united states.
The inhabitants, which are called 'Houstonians' , speak about 90 languages, so this makes Houston to the most multicultural city of all.

Those are the matter of facts.

Hope you enjoyed it. (:
